How to Play
The Name of the Game
Snaps is a classic parlor game. Here's how the digital version works.
The Basics
The goal is simple: guess the hidden word. The game tells you the Category first, then plays a sequence of finger snaps and spoken sentences that spell it out.
1. Vowels (Snaps)
A specific number of snaps in a row represents a vowel:
- A 1 Snap
- E 2 Snaps
- I 3 Snaps
- O 4 Snaps
- U 5 Snaps
2. Consonants (Sentences)
For consonants, a sentence is spoken out loud. The first letter of that sentence is the consonant.
"Snaps is the name of the game..."
→ Letter: S
→ Letter: S
Audio Clues
Listen carefully. The pauses between snaps and sentences help you tell where one letter ends and the next begins. Each word is spelled out letter by letter.
Pro Tips
- Watch the bars on screen — they pulse with each snap so you can see what's happening.
- Wait for the entire word to be "snapped" before entering your answer.
- The category is your best clue. Use it to narrow down the possibilities.
